RUO peptide reference materials in the EU

How VERIPHASE defines, presents and documents research-use-only peptide reference materials for its EU catalogue.

Research use only. The information below concerns laboratory reference materials for in-vitro research and makes no medical, therapeutic, diagnostic, cosmetic or performance claims.

“Research use only” (RUO) is an intended-use statement for a material supplied solely as an in-vitro laboratory reference standard. It is not, by itself, a universal legal classification. This guide explains how VERIPHASE defines, documents and supplies RUO peptide reference materials in the European Union.

Intended purpose and presentation

Under Regulation (EU) 2017/746, intended purpose includes the use assigned by the manufacturer in labels, instructions, promotional material and sales statements. Products for general laboratory use or RUO are outside that regulation unless they are specifically intended for in-vitro diagnostic examination. Other classifications may also depend on a material’s objective characteristics, presentation and claims. VERIPHASE presents these materials solely for in-vitro laboratory research, not for human or animal use, and makes no therapeutic, diagnostic, cosmetic or performance claims.

Documentation

Each released lot has a source-linked certificate of analysis containing the methods and results required by its product-specific evidence profile. Intrinsic chemistry — sequence, molecular formula, molecular weight and CAS number — is published per product when verified.

EU research supply

The catalogue presents availability and lot documentation for qualified research organisations in the supported EU service area. Current ordering status and product availability are shown on the site.
